Matthew D. Tully

​​Matthew D. Tully is Managing Partner of Tully & Associates and has more than a decade of experience representing property owners in complex property tax matters. His practice spans commercial, industrial, multifamily, hospitality, and residential real estate. His clients include REITs, developers, professional sports franchises, family offices, property management companies, affordable housing providers, small-business owners, and individual homeowners.

Matt graduated from Georgetown University in 2010 and earned his law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2015. During his final year of law school, he participated in a student-created capstone course that drafted and advocated for legislation benefiting Special Olympics Chicago and Special Children’s Charities. The legislation was subsequently enacted by the Illinois General Assembly.

Before joining Tully & Associates in 2012, Matt served in the Obama administration, working with the White House Council of Economic Advisers and the Office of Management and Budget. He also previously served as a White House intern.

Matt is a member of the Chicago Inn of Court, the Chicago Bar Association’s Real Estate Tax Committee, the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Better Government Association, and the Urban Land Institute.

Deeply committed to Chicago’s civic and philanthropic community, Matt serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of St. Ignatius College Prep, where he received the Alumni Medal in 2015. He is also a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, a Director of the Western Golf Association, and serves on the boards of Big Shoulders Fund, the Lurie Children’s Hospital Foundation, and the 100 Club of Chicago.

A second-generation Irish American, Matt is proud to serve on the boards of the Celtic Legal Society and the Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago.
